About Mrs. Heffield
Priscilla Heffield offers private piano instruction focusing on classical training, sacred music and popular music for beginner and advanced musicians. She also includes music theory, chord playing, music history, sight reading and improvisation.
Lessons are taken on a Baldwin grand piano. In addition, Mrs. Heffield uses a Clavinova CVP 307 which allows for the young student to play accompanied by recorded tracks and a variety of rhythms and simulated instruments. It also allows students to record their own playing, and is helpful for sight playing.
Mrs. Heffield has been teaching in the north Orlando area for 20 years. She has performed with a piano quartet team and has served as a church musician for more than 25 years. She holds a BA in Piano Performance from Bob Jones University. Her post-graduate studies with Pearl Bassett and Zalina Gurevich include advanced interpretation and study in the Russian technique. Her enthusiasm for many music styles and her quiet, patient manner endear her to her students. Her students participate regularly in local music festivals and have won awards in local and state competitions.
Mrs. Heffield is active in music education organizations, having held numerous positions in CFMTA, FSMTA, FFMC, and District Festival, including Past President of CFMTA, District President of FSMTA, and Federation Festival Chair. She also serves as adjudicator for Student Day, Guild Auditions, State Festival, and Federation Festivals in the area.
